This year, it's time to show legislators that we are the evidence that community-led, life-enabling, evidence-based solutions can end preventable death from overdose.

Join the Illinois Harm Reduction & Recovery Coalition for May 8th from 9-1pm (drop in any time you like!) at the Illinois State Capitol Building for a day of solidarity and education surrounding novel ways to protect the dignity and wellbeing of people who use drugs (PWUD).

Members of the public will be able to:

  • Learn about what it takes to run an Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) with The Puerto Rico Project's Mock OPS

  • Access supplies, education, resources, and connection from our members including:

    • AIDS Foundation Chicago, Ear Acu 4 All, Gateway Foundation, JOLT Foundation, Perfectly Flawed Foundation, Porchlight Collective SAP, Trilogy, and UChicago Street Medicine Team

  • Connect with other harm reductionists and members of the Coalition

  • Learn about becoming a member of the Coalition

Together, we'll build a strong presence across the state to:

  • Come together as a community in support of our crucial work to save lives in communities across Illinois

  • Build the movement for and with people who use drugs (PWUD)

  • Pass the Overdose Prevention Site Pilot and HOPE Acts!
